Be part of a close, vibrant community that you can genuinely be proud of
We are a young, successful consultancy looking to add a Risk Consultant (Junior/Mid level) to our experienced and respected team. This is an exciting time to join Redstone Risk as we embark on a period of growth, and you can be at the forefront of it.
If you have relevant risk management and/or consulting experience, and like the idea of working in a small, flexible, dynamic team with real responsibilities and growth opportunities, then keep reading.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of risk management consultancy solutions to new and existing clients.
You will work closely with our team of experienced risk consultants and analysts to provide consultancy support to a range of customers in mission-critical environments. You will be expected to work collaboratively with our clients to deliver bespoke solutions that meet their needs, whilst upholding and enhancing our most important asset - our reputation.
What can you expect?
As this is a consultancy role, you can expect to work on a variety of risk management engagements that will require you to develop a range of different approaches. For example, you may be helping a customer develop their risk management process one day, and the following day you may be running a risk identification workshop with another client.
We will provide you with all the training, support, and development opportunities you will need to become a successful risk consultant. We will actively encourage and fund your development to gain relevant qualifications, enhance your professional reputation, and grow your network.
You can expect to work alongside our experienced consultants on a range of interesting projects, where rarely are two weeks ever the same.
What are we looking for?
We need someone who helps makes us better.
The successful candidate will not only enhance our capabilities but also share our core values of Trust, Flexibility and Integrity. If you are switched on, collaborative by nature and driven to make a big impact within an organisation, you will thrive in this role.
Ideally, you will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the Defence, Energy, or Construction sectors with a good understanding of risk management practices and principles. Your risk management experience may come from a similar consultancy role, or from a risk delivery role. Any experience in quantitative cost/schedule risk analysis or Monte-Carlo modelling would be advantageous.
You will be a strong communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to understand complex problems quickly. An eye for detail and a confident customer-focused mindset are essential, as is the ability to work independently under dedicated, but often geographically remote, supervision.
The successful candidate will be contractually based from their home location and will be required to travel to support clients at locations across the UK. Therefore, having a full driving licence and own transport will be essential.
As a small consultancy based in South West England, we would prefer our Risk Consultant to be South West based, so that we can provide the right level of support and guidance from day one.
Due to the nature of our work, we require the successful candidate to currently hold, or be eligible to obtain, UK Security Clearance (SC).
The skills you will need
- Degree educated (ideally in a relevant subject).
- Relevant risk management and modelling experience, gained in a consultancy or delivery role.
- Experience in one or more of our core markets: Defence, Energy, Construction.
- An understanding of risk management methodologies and techniques.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and an eye for detail.
- Genuinely excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A confident presenter with the ability to ‘lead a room’.
- A true self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- The ability and desire to independently travel around the UK, often working away on client sites (although we do try to minimise this).
- An interest in emerging technologies and a passion for improving the communication of traditionally uninspiring information.
